Matt’s statement on the latest ULHT CQC report:
“The latest Care Quality Commission report sees ULHT officially move from a rating of inadequate to requires improvement. That’s huge progress made by staff and by management in a short time, and I congratulate all involved. But the report also reveals that the standards inspectors saw earlier this year in some areas at Pilgrim need to improve significantly if the Trust is to come out of special measures, and to provide the care the people of Boston and the surrounding area deserve.
I know that any inadequate standards are not acceptable. I’ll be working with the Trust, NHS Improvement and NHS England, as well as other agencies, to continue to make sure that improvement is maintained and extended. It is leadership that is crucial to making progress and the CQC praises the Trust’s leadership in particular, meaning that constituents have every right to expect continued improvement. I will, as I always have, do all I can to make sure that happens.”
